Outland is a six-part comedy series about a gay science fiction fan club and the lives, loves and never-ending dramas of its five members.

This film is presented in English with English subtitles.

Where do you go if you grew up unpopular and pimply, having unrequited crushes on boys in the rugby team and wishing to be transported to the exotic yet often papier-mache worlds of English science fiction serials? How do you cope if you are both a geek, and gay? Outland is a situation comedy from the producers of Summer Heights High and John Safran’s Race Relations that revolves around a gay science-fiction club. It is a comedy about belonging, and how everyone searches to find a place where they fit in. Episodes 1-3: Bondage & Bionics. Open about their sexuality but not so much about their geekdom, the gang outs one of their own on a first date, stumbles into a complicated BDSM scene, and faces the Khan-like wrath of their club’s former leader. With glitter, wit, evening gowns, and enchanting storytelling, Miwa looks back over a 50-year career and a fascinating life in music, film, and television (including the cult classic Black Lizard). As a young singer, Miwa popularized androgyny as a fashion statement, fusing the masculine and the feminine into a signal of a new generation of aesthetics. This evolved into performing as a woman and living off-stage as a man. In recent years he has voiced characters in Hayao Miyazaki’s internationally successful anime films like Howl’s Moving Castle and appears almost daily on Japanese talk shows. Having sold millions of records, publishing over 20 books, and performing to sell out crowds, Miwa continues to fight for gay rights.

The adventures of lesbian space aliens on the planet Earth, and the story of the romance between Jane, a shy greeting card store employee, and Zoinx, the woman Jane does not realize is from outer-space. Meanwhile, two government agents, or ‘Men In Black,’ are closely tracking Jane and the aliens while harboring their own secrets.
