QFilms Long Beach

Long Beach's longest-running film festival is the annual Queer festival, put on by the LGBTQ Center Long Beach and hosted at the Art Theater. This year's edition runs September 4-7, and includes a great lineup of special guests, short films, and local connections -- including the World Premiere of Encuerados, a documentary about seven Latino men in the Los Angeles leather scene, and Row of Life, following athlete Angela Madsen's solo ocean row from LA to Hawaii.
CinePride Film Festival

The latest addition to LA's festival scene is Queer fest CinePride, running September 11-14 at Landmark Sunset, bringing five short film blocks, five documentaries, and four narrative features to LA screens. Highlights include the World Premiere of Queer horror Shadows of Willow Cabin and the return of Sundance Hit The Big Johnson.
