Ongoing Series
The Egyptian brings an Alfred Hitchcock retrospective to span the summer! Hitchcock never made a film that was explicitly Queer, but his love of psychosexual tension certainly treaded near Queer themes and Queer-coded characters like cross-dressing Norman Bates, lovers Leopold & Loeb, and the sinister Mrs Danvers.
He collaborated with gay screenwriter Arthur Laurents (Rope), queer stars Farley Granger (Rope, Strangers on a Train) and Anthony Perkins (Psycho)--so there's a small feast for Queer cinephiles in this series.

Rope
Egyptian Theatre
Is this the original "be gay do crimes" movie? Though heavily censored, this one-take Hitchcock thriller (from out screenwriter Arthur Laurents) is based off the real-life Leopold and Loeb case, where two gay students killed a boy just to see if they could get away with it.

Strangers on a Train
Egyptian Theatre
Based on the novel by lesbian Patricia Highsmith, starring bi actor Farley Granger (who came out in his 2007 memoir), this Hitchcock thriller is hardly subtle--with its queer-coded villain serving as a doppleganger for everything our meek protagonist wishes he could be.
Having met on a train, a smooth-talking psychotic socialite shares his theory on how two complete strangers can get away with murder to an amateur tennis player — a theory he plans to test out.
