CONTENT WARNING:
Not long after moving into her own place, Maggie finds herself with two unsolicited roommates: her recently divorced mother, Lila, and her young brother. The timing is especially bad, considering Maggie has fallen hard for an attractive woman, Kim, only hours before they move in. What could be a nonissue becomes increasingly complicated – since Maggie’s family is unaware of her sexual orientation, and Maggie is not open to sharing that information.
This film is presented in English with English subtitles.
Winner of the People's Choice Award at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Set in Vancouver, this delightful and very sexy new lesbian feature is a rollicking tale centering around the pretty 19-year-old bookstore clerk Maggie, and her diverse circle of friends and family. Maggie's life has been going great, especially since meeting Kim, an itinerant artist. They fall for each other hard and fast enjoying art, sex and chocolate. The only problem is that Maggie's recently divorced mother, Lila, has decided to move in. Then there is the transexual Judy who befriends Lila and is in love with Frances the lesbian bookstore owner who is fighting customs over banned books. A great soundtrack including artists like Bif Naked, Ani DiFranco, and Sara McLachlan all lend to the humor and romance of this "sexy, funny, touching and always generous" romantic comedy" (David Stratton, Variety). A reception follows screening. Special thanks to the Canadian Consulate General.

Gabi, a toughened Spanish street girl about to turn into a woman, is in the center of this mysterious action film. Combining elements of a classic crime thriller with those of an erotic drama the film enters into Gabi's dream world, where she fantasizes about a woman in green marble high-heeled shoes and about quitting her life of crime. Driven by passion, fearless, and untouched by remorse, Gabi is determined to get what she wants against all the odds. This seems more possible when she meets the older Carmina, who is initially amused by Gabi's attentions but is soon seized by her desire and life of crime. Gritty and intriguing, Pasajes takes us to the underworld of petty crime and obsessive desires.
In this talky Spanish thriller, Gabi, a lesbian gang member seeks to convince her middle-aged heterosexual dreamgirl Carmina to become her new lover and crime partner. The story begins as Gabi and her lover burst into another woman’s apartment, tie her up and begin robbing her. The police show up and during a shoot-out, one of the robbers is killed. After she escapes, Gabi returns to her fringy friends and begins dreaming of a soul mate. All Gabi knows is that the right woman will be a pair of green high heels. Carmina owns such a pair, and though she is far from Gabi’s physical ideal, a soul mate is a soul mate and so she begins her persistent courtship.
